You need to pay for a pretty expensive ticket I think like €13 each to see the gallery/library. In terms of the monastery itself there are several cathedrals that are free to enter in Prague that are just as nice and you are able to walk more inside and are not restricted to just looking in through a few meters past the opening entrance such as here. The southern tower was not completed until 1511, under architect Matěj Rejsek. His sculpture was placed on the gable, below a huge golden chalice, the symbol of the Hussites. The building was completed in the 1450s, while the gable and northern tower were completed shortly thereafter during the reign of George of Poděbrady (1453–1471). The church was controlled by Hussites for two centuries, including John of Rokycan, future archbishop of Prague, who became the church's vicar in 1427. By the beginning of the 15th century, construction was almost complete only the towers, the gable and roof were missing. The church was designed in the late Gothic style under the influence of Matthias of Arras and later Peter Parler. Construction of the present church began in the 14th century. It was replaced by an early Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn in 1256. In the 11th century, the Old Town plaza area was occupied by a Romanesque church, which was built for foreign merchants coming to the nearby Týn Courtyard. Visiting this magnificent church is an opportunity to appreciate the artistic and architectural achievements of the past while connecting with a sense of spirituality and history that permeates its walls. Its towering presence and remarkable architecture make it an iconic symbol of the city. The Church of Our Lady in Prague is not only a place of worship but also a significant historical and cultural landmark. Witnessing its intricate movements and rich symbolism was truly awe-inspiring. The clock not only tells the time but also displays the positions of celestial bodies, providing a unique intersection of science and spirituality. One of the most notable features of the church is the mesmerizing astrological clock, which stands as a testament to the ingenuity of its time. The architectural details, from the vaulted ceilings to the meticulously carved stone elements, showcased the skill and craftsmanship of the medieval artisans. The dimly lit interior, adorned with magnificent stained glass windows and ornate altars, evoked a sense of awe and tranquility. Stepping inside the Church of Our Lady, I was enveloped by a serene and reverent atmosphere. As I approached the church, I was immediately captivated by its soaring spires and intricate façade, which exude a sense of grandeur and spirituality. The Church of Our Lady in Prague, also known as the Týn Church, is a striking Gothic masterpiece that dominates the skyline of the city. - Top 30 places to visit in Prague in 2021 (Lots of photos).Prague Stay - Old Town Sights | Prague Sightseeing. The Spaces - 11 must-see architectural landmarks in Prague.Trip101 - Top 10 Famous Buildings In Prague, Czechia - Updated 2021.Just a Pack - 78 BEST Things to Do in Prague - 2021.- Monuments and Tourist attractions - What to do in Prague.- Prague Sights, Tourist Attractions & Museums.GETTING STAMPED - Top 20 Best Things To Do In Prague - 2021 Guide.Delve Into Europe - Landmarks of Prague. An Edible Mosaic™ - Prague Attractions – The BEST Things to Do in Prague!.Praguest - The best of Prague - Prague Monuments.ViaTravelers - 18 Famous Landmarks in Czech Republic.TripHobo - Famous Historical Places in Prague - Historic Places, Landmarks, Monuments. The Crazy Tourist - 25 Best Things to Do in Prague (Czech Republic.Touropia - 15 Top Tourist Attractions in Prague.- Top Tourists Attractions, Landmarks in Prague, Czech Republic.- 20 Top-Rated Tourist Attractions in Prague | PlanetWare.Culture Trip - The Most Impressive Buildings in Prague.Lonely Planet - Must see attractions in Prague, Czech Republic.Time Out - 12 Best Attractions in Prague Right Now.
